Lor Choc
Lor Choc
Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, 20-year old rising hip-hop artist Lor Choc is making a name for herself in her city and beyond at a rapid pace. Choc first got started in the music game in 2014 when one of her close friends Geter taught her the ins and outs of recording and making music. Choc always had a knack for singing and was quite talented, but it was Geter who showed her the proper way to arrange bars, stay on beat, flow properly, etc. — the nuts and bolts of what it takes to be a successful artist. From there, her and her HD crew started pursuing their dreams and went full throttle with the music. In 2015, Choc released a freestyle video that went viral across the Internet and gave her a solid foundation of fans and support. Continuing to fine-tune her skills, Choc went on to release her first official full project Worth The Wait in 2016, led by bolstering tracks “Run Up On Me”, “2016” and more. This project officially put Choc on the map and led her to some great opportunities. This included featured interviews/stories on major hip-hop sites including FADER, Complex, Noisey, Pitchfork and many others. Since then, Choc has performed in various cities including her hometown of Baltimore (several times), Washington D.C., Atlanta, Connecticut, Delaware and Virginia. Towards the end of 2017, Choc released another powerful single titled “Fast Life” along with a video shot in her gritty hometown of Baltimore. This song and video was a powerful one in the city and truly showed Choc’s talent on the mic. Pitchfork referred to it as an, “infectiously simple [song] from the moment the intro bled into her inspirational sh*t talk about chasing a bag of money to give to all her friends.” In the beginning of 2018, Choc signed a deal with independent record label TSO Records and is currently prepping her next project. In July, she dropped a new single titled “Score” along with a catchy video. In mid-August, Choc will be a part of a new record titled “Want Some More” from producer Stan Lane, where both Choc and rising star Kodie Shane will be featured. For the rest of the year, Choc will be releasing new music and videos to close out 2018 before she drops the aforementioned new project that she’s working on. Stay tuned and get ready because Lor Choc is here to stay!
