T-Rextasy formed in 2013 during their senior year of high school in New York City. In May 2016, they released Jurassic Punk, their debut album on Father/Daughter Records and Miscreant Records. The record received praise from NPR, MTV, Stereogum, and a single, “Gap Yr Boiz,” was featured on a Rolling Stone list as #13 on Rob Sheffield’s Top 25 Songs of 2016. The “hyper-verbal rock & roll goddesses”, as deemed by Sheffield, will be supporting PWR BTTM on a West Coast tour in July.
Emily Yacina - (Set time: 7:45 PM)
Emily Yacina
"Featuring the vocal talents of the gloriously opulent Emily Yacina, you can hear 'Sing Yourself To Sleep' below via the track's accompanying video. Something of a fleeting visit, coming in at under two minutes, the track is suitably affecting regardless. Yacina's vocal is a magnetic counterpoint to Rawling's hazy drawl, the two extremities brought together as one as the track rolls slowly along, a burned-out moment of cagy blissfulness that feels ready-set to fall apart at any given moment. It doesn't, of course, instead it hangs in place, reserved in a special notch of the day that might well exist only for itself."
Fern Mayo (solo) - (Set time: 7:00 PM)
Burnt out on the written word and in need of a new outlet, essayist Katie Capri turned her restlessness to guitar, crafting songs that explore the ulterior and broken patterns of thought, at times deeply personal and more ubiquitous at others. Capri's wailing vocals and jangling guitar together with Nicholas Cummins' kinetic, hooky basslines and drummer Brian Oranté's thundering hits creates Fern Mayo's own brand of idiosyncratic skronk pop seen all over DIY venues & basements around Brooklyn and the Northeast. Fern Mayo's cathartic live show ebbs through the band's disparate influences, from the live wire physicality of riot grrrl and pop punk to the emotive composure of 90s singer/songwriters. Their debut ep, Happy Forever, released in October 2015 on Miscreant Records, showcases the band's indie roots as well as their fascination with the darker side of dissonant guitar rock.
