Half Waif - (Set time: 9:45 PM)
Half Waif
Half Waif is the solo project of Nandi Rose Plunkett, who lives in Brooklyn NY.

In the home of her Indian mother and Irish/American father, Nandi grew up listening to a mix of Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Celtic songstress Loreena McKennitt, and traditional Indian bhajans. In college, she studied classical singing and became enamored with the works of Olivier Messiaen and Claude Debussy. A lover of synthesizers and pop tunes, her resulting work as Half Waif features richly layered compositions of various origins, at once dark and dreamy.

Half Waif's first EP, Future Joys, was released in May 2013. She recorded her debut full-length album KOTEKAN with producer Devin Greenwood in Brooklyn and released it in July 2014. The album--a kaleidoscopic blend of contemporary classical music and experimental pop--is now available on iTunes and Bandcamp.
Zula - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
"Twin Loss" is a tense yet tempered psych pop song by Brooklyn's Zula, a band fronted by cousins Henry and Nate Terepka. It deals with a rather dark and emotionally draining theme: twin loss, the feeling of incompleteness and grief someone experiences when their twin dies at birth. The song's narrator is "longing to transcend life and merge with one's true counterpart," the band says. "Twin Loss" will appear on Zula's first full-length album, out in October via Inflated Records. In the mean time, the band have released three-track Twin Loss EP, which you can stream in its entirety below. - Stereogum
Zula is currently working on a debut LP, set to be released this summer.
TIGUE - (Set time: 8:15 PM)
One half new music ensemble, one half avant-pop band, TIGUE delivers rhythmic hooks and patterned drones through process and improvisation. Uniting homegrown ethos and conservatory precision, the percussion-charged trio look forward to kicking off their third season this fall with a return to Chicago at Constellation. Along with collaborative performance projects with Adrian Knight and Kid Millions' Man Forever, TIGUE's season is highlighted by the release and consequent touring of their debut full-length album, "Peaks," set to release on New Amsterdam Records this November. The self-composed, energy driven record will be presented in full for the program at Constellation as a special pre-release highlight show.
